Getting ready for EVO is no picnic. TorontoTopTiers.com recently hosted a big tournament (School Rumble) in Toronto to give players the much needed practive for EVO. I participated in 5 games for this event. SCIV, Tekken, MK, MvC3, and SSFIVAE. Needless to say, I did not do too well in MvC3 and SSFIV:AE. Read more of my exploits in the tournament after the break.
Boy that was a fun tournament. As always, NeoRussell brings out the best of best from players all over Toronto. I could not scum a good ranking for MvC3 and SSFIV:AE for some reason. I was just not feeling it that day. Oh well, I know where I stand with them and I don’t regret my placing.
9th SSFIV:AE – Vega Fail
16th MvC3 – Team Dad Fail
As for the other games. Ever since BlazBlue 2 came out, I cannot seem to get back into it. Not because I hate the game but because they changed Tsubaki so much. It’s just uber hard to relearn her. Plus the good BB players are nowhere close to me. I did not compete in the BB tournament this time around.
Soul Calibur IV
I’ll be honest. I really don’t play this game anymore. I don’t have the game (I donated it to a friend) and do not practice. Last month, TTT created a tournament that included SCIV and for some reason I got 1st. Of course, if you guys don’t know me by now, I joke around a lot. So seeing that I know those guys really well, I guess you can say that I taunted and trolled them so much. Basically, here I am coming from a marathon that day and winning the tournament. Wow. I don’t troll people that don’t know me.
Anyways, in School Rumble Tournament, I wasn’t so lucky. As you can see from the video below, they were ready for me this time around.
SCIV – 3rd Place
Regardless, I got a good rank for this tournament. I won using experience alone. Nothing has really changed towards my gameplay from 2 years ago.
Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion
For the past 2 years, I’ve won almost all of the Tekken Tournaments in Toronto. Not because they suck but probably because i’m just awesome. LOL. No no, they are all good. I have great experience and have been around since Tekken Tag days. Anyways, in this tournament, I already knew I was gonna place high. I was worried about 1 player and when I saw him get taken out, I know this tournament was mine. The minute that he lost, my mind just went “KACHING $$$!”. LOL.
Tekken 6 – 1st Place
Pretty good, that’s 1 game under my belt in this big tournament.
Not sure if you guys have been following me around for awhile but I am pretty good in MK. I’ve won the last 4 tournaments in the Ontario region with my Kitana. I love her so much. Basically, I just call my way of playing her “FAN SERVICE“. The main reason being that I throw too many freaking fans.
Mortal Kombat – 1st Place
I’m sure one these players will take my throne one day. For now, MK Toronto is under my belt. I do hope to do well in EVO with her. If anything, I have Mileena as backup.
